Terms and Conditions for participation in Macquarie Singapore Warrants Contest 2020

Macquarie Singapore Warrants Contest 2020 (the “Contest”) is [organised] by Macquarie Capital Securities (Singapore) Pte Ltd (“Macquarie”).

  1. How to win

Step 1: Invest in Macquarie Warrants under each month’s relevant qualifying warrants listed on SGX during the relevant period1

    Relevant period Relevant qualifying warrants
1-30 September Macquarie warrants tracking Singapore shares and the Straits Times Index (STI) only
1-30 October Macquarie warrants tracking Hong Kong shares only
2-30 November Macquarie warrants linked to S&P500, Hang Seng Index (HSI) and Nikkei225 index futures only
1 Both buy and sale trades have to be within the relevant period.

Step 2: Earn a minimum 20% realized gain in trading any one series of Macquarie warrants in the relevant category

The 20% realized gain refers to the cumulative realized returns in one qualified warrant during the month. For example, you may trade in and out of that warrant on day 1 with 10% gain, and in and out on day 2 with another 10% gain. However, one cannot only cherry pick winning trades; for example, if you have made a loss of 10% on day 1 and a 20% gain on day 2 on the same qualified warrant, you have not accumulated a 20% gain yet because loss will also be taken into account.

Step 3: Submit your screen capture of your winning warrant transaction history as shown on your brokerage platform via our online platform to verify your 20% gain. Please insert name identical to your bank account name so that your prize can be cashed in via cheque.

Step 4: If you are one of the first four investors submitting evidence of a minimum 20% realized gain, you will be contacted to write up your trading strategy which, subject to Macquarie’s editing as it sees fit, may be shared with other investors. We will also request for (i) your trading account ID and any relevant information for verifying your trades (ii) your address so that we can send the cheque to you.

Step 5: Win SGD1,000 in cash.

  2. Entry requirements

    • Singaporean residents at or over 18 years of age at time of first trade. Those who do not meet these requirements will be disqualified from any participation. Participants can be of any nationality residing in Singapore.
    • To be eligible to the cash prize, winner would need to submit a write up of his or her trading strategy on the winning trades and consent to Macquarie publishing his or her name and trading strategy in any marketing materials and social media.
    • All employees and interns, as well as their immediate families, of Macquarie is not eligible to participate.
  3. Determination of the winners

Macquarie will determine the winning participants based on the submissions. In case of any dispute, Macquarie will decide in its sole discretion. We will announce the winners for each month at www.warrants.com.sg/contest2020 as long as the winning trade histories have been verified.

Regarding verification of the trades, we will not accept any account statements or contract notes. Those who do not trade online will have to ask their remisiers/brokers/trading representatives for screen captures.

The winning investors may invest in more than one warrant but only the one warrant with a 20% realized gain will give you a winning chance. If you invest in multiple qualified warrants and the aggregate gain across all warrants is at or more than 20%, you would not be qualified to win until your realized gain in one qualified warrant is at or above 20%. Brokerage fee or other charges will not be taken into account in calculating the 20% gain.

Once the winning trades have been successfully verified, the winning investor will be notified via email at the email address provided on his or her submission.

Any potential winner who cannot be contacted within fifteen (15) days of attempted first notification at the email address provided will be considered as giving up his or her prize.

Any winning investor who fails to submit his or her trading strategy within 7 days of being requested to do so will be automatically disqualified.

If the number of successful submissions for a particular month is less than four, the remaining prizes will be rolled over to the following month(s)
