Japan economic figures to set the tone for the week
Investors will look towards Japan to set the tone for trading early in the week, with the key May industrial production figures on Monday 29th June 09 being an indicator for the pace of the rebound in output. Key May jobless rate and 2Q09 Tankan survey (business survey) will be released on Tuesday 30th June 09 and Wednesday 1st July 09 respectively.

Other key economic announcements
China will announce its June Purchasing Manager Index (PMI) manufacturing on Wednesday 1st July 09. A reading above 50 points indicate that the manufacturing economy is expanding, and a reading below 50 points indicates that the manufacturing economy is declining.

U.S June ISM and May pending home sales will also be released on Wednesday, while Euro-zone May unemployment rate and U.S June unemployment rate will hog the limelight on Thursday 2nd July 09.

On the home front, Singapore will release its June PMI on Thursday 2nd July 09. The U.S market is shut on Friday evening for Independence Day holiday.
