Commodity Stocks Climb; Crude Advances for Second Straight Day
Stocks in the U.S. made overnight gains, led by energy and metal shares. Commodity plays, which have been beaten up, saw strong rebounds while crude posted its first back-to-back advance in five weeks. The NYMEX crude oil futures gained 45 cents to finish at US$114.98 last night amidst concerns about Russia's possible reaction to a U.S.-Poland missile shield. Crude oil futures continued to climb this morning, making a further gain of 72 cents to trade at US$115.70 as of writing.
