Falling For A Fourth Consecutive Week

The STI tumbled 2.3% week-on-week (wow) and closed at 2,683.6 last Friday...

SingTel and large cap property stocks sold down sharply
SingTel (-3.7% wow, $2.90) and larger cap property stocks like CapitaLand (-5.7% wow, $3.64) and CapitaMalls Asia (-2.6% wow, $2.25) were hit by a wave of selling last week.

As CapitaLand’s share price fell, the put warrant over CapitaLand below rose. Put warrants enable investors to potentially profit when the underlying share prices fall.

CapitaMalls Asia also reported its maiden results last week, with FY09 net profit of $388mn rising 235% year-on-year. The company also declared a final net dividend per share of S$0.01.

Long dated SingTelMBLeCW110404 (HJ5W) exercise $2.90 fell 14.0% wow.

Call warrant CapitalaMBLeCW100702(KG5W) exercise price $3.80 was listed last week.

Genting obtained casino license
Genting staged an afternoon rally last Friday, rising 4.7% wow to close at $1.11. Over the weekend, Bloomberg reported that the company obtained its casino license from the Singapore government.

Call warrant GentingSPMBLeC100401 (I3UW) exercise price $1.10 rose 22.9% wow.

Long dated GentingSMBLeCW120402 (J2UW) exercise price $1.15 rose 11.4% wow.


Ezra and SembCorp Marine bucking the downtrend
Amidst the gloom and doom on the local bourse, Ezra (+1.4% wow, $2.15) and SembCorp Marine (+1.5% wow, $3.37) bucked the downtrend and closed in positive territory. Last Friday, Ezra announced on the SGX that the company together with EOC Ltd, PetroVietnam Transportation, and KSI Production will establish a joint venture company to supply a new FPSO and related services to Premier Oil Vietnam Offshore B.V.

Call warrant Ezra MBLeCW100505 (JR4W) exercise price $2.20 fell 3.1% wow.

Call warrant Ezra MBLeCW100604 (J6PW) exercise price $2.50 was flat wow.

Call warrant SembMar MBLeCW100603(J6AW) exercise price $3.60 rose 3.9% wow.
